The Basics: Who Are We?
Our co-founders, Hutch Ashoo and Chris Snyder, have 64+ combined experience in helping create a boutique firm to attend to and help investors with $5 million to $500 million.
They became business partners in 1988 as owners of Pillar Financial Services, Inc. and when they agreed to become Independent Fee-ONLY Fiduciary advisors to their clients, without the conflict of commissions, they shut down Pillar Financial Services, Inc. (which was a broker dealer collecting commissions) and started Pillar Wealth Management, LLC. in 2008, a fee-only registered investment advisory firm.
National & Virtual Service
We built a national and virtual firm, and mastered virtual financial planning service that meets the needs of affluent clients who don’t want to travel just to talk to their advisors, well before Covid-19 arrived. We utilize executive suites instead of permanent expensive offices to meet clients anywhere in the nation. Not only does this serve you better, it helps reduce costs. Some may be paying for the plush Wall Street and big bank offices, but not us.
At Pillar Wealth Management, LLC., we utilize some of the best available technology as well as virtual staffing to meet our high net worth clients’ operational and service needs.
Assets Under Management & Fees
Pillar Wealth Management is a fee-only firm and charges 1% annually on assets our clients ask us to invest on their behalf. We offer negotiable fees for clients who invest $10+ million. Currently we serve around 80 clients, some of which have been with us for over 30 years, (excluding friends and family) and manage around $185+ million of assets as of 12/31/2020. Our biggest client ever had founded one of Silicon Valley’s firms and is now a billionaire.
Pillar utilizes Fidelity and Charles Schwab, who safeguard trillions of dollars (we consider this the SAFE where your money is kept) on an open architecture investing platform. You are therefore free from being tied into any big Wall Street firms or even Pillar for that matter. We do not ‘take’ your money. The client can choose any advisor they want on these platforms. With tens of thousands of investments to take advantage of, we are not beholden to anyone, not even Fidelity or Schwab. We develop 100% customized plans to manage your portfolio. We are 100% beholden to you the client.
