English Capital Management (ECM) is a private investment partnership with offices in Detroit, Michigan, and Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2015 by Riley P. English, who serves as the Managing Partner, ECM focuses on global value investing. The firm’s strategy involves investing in wealth-creating businesses led by shareholder-focused management teams, aiming to acquire publicly traded equities at prices below their intrinsic value due to temporary market factors.

ECM maintains a concentrated portfolio with an investment horizon of three to five years or more. Riley English, the founder, has a background in equity research, having worked at Fiduciary Management in Milwaukee and Dodge & Cox in San Francisco. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, completed the Value Investing Program at Columbia Business School, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Jordan Stambler, who joined ECM in 2016 as Director of Research, previously worked as an engineer at ExxonMobil and is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
